Every Christmas we hear stories about surprise Santas who pop up out of nowhere spreading love, cheer and cash! (The love and cheer usually follows the receipt of the cash!) I’d love to be in on that someday…

            But, rather than be the one to receive the gift, I’d love to be able to play the part of Santa! It turns my crank to think about being able to give that way. Not just of my treasure, but of my time and talent as well. So, I’ll ask you the questions: Are you usually hoping to be on the receiving end? Or, does it genuinely excite you to be on the giving end? The way in which you honestly answer that question should tell you a lot about your character…

            Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Remember, He should know a thing or two about gift giving. He was in on the greatest gift the world has ever received–Himself! If you want to be like Jesus, you’ve got to be a genuine giver at heart. But, like Jesus, it’s not about giving stuff. It’s all about giving your life away…
