Caravan is a scouting, or kids’ club, type of program that meets once a week, on Wednesday night.
Children are assigned to one of the five major groups – Little Bears (2's & 3's), Bible Buddies (4's & 5's), Searchers (1st & 2nd graders), Explorers (3rd & 4th graders), or Adventurers (5th & 6th graders) – according to their grade in school or their age by September 1st for the younger ones.
Each group is under the direction of two or more adult leaders who are called “guides.”
The Caravan ministry exists to help children become more like Jesus by encouraging their growth in the four specific areas mentioned in Luke 2:52: mental (wisdom), physical (stature), spiritual (favor with God), and social(favor with men). Caravan is a time for children to learn how they can grow in all areas of their lives. It also helps children develop an appreciation for and understanding of Nazarene heritage and beliefs.
